It’s been four years since Sharon Van Etten released the sublime ‘Are We There’ album and in the meantime she’s become a mother, gone back to school to study psychology, written a score for the film Strange Weather and made guest appearances acting in The OA and singing in the Twin Peaks revival. Now, she announced the release of fifth studio album ‘Remind Me Tomorrow’ and unveiled new single ‘Comeback Kid’

Sounding unlike anything she’s released before, this song opens with energetic Phoenix-style beats as Sharon states: ‘Hey, you’re the comeback kid, see me look away. I’m the runaway, I’m the stay-out-late. I’m recovering’. She then goes on to ponder how ‘I was somebody’ before demanding ‘Let me look at you now’ as the song becomes more frantic. Produced by John Congleton and clocking in at just three minutes (which is all too short), the song was originally written as a piano ballad but is now a sharp anthem that will get people dancing at Sharon’s next run of shows.
