Shameless Plug

It's time for a shameless plug!As most of you probably already know, I am a PROUD member of the SIDEWAYS Contemporary Dance Company. It has been such an amazing experience dancing with such a wonderful group of talented and passionate performers and I wouldn't trade this time for the world! While I was able to keep dancing throughout college, I was really worried that I wouldn't be able to continue after moving to GA and getting a full time job. There was always the option of taking classes but they can be so expensive and my post-college goal, like many others, was to MAKE money rather than spend it all away. I had basically accepted the fact that I would put dance on hold for a time until, thankfully, a friend at my old job gave me the heads up that this company in the area was holding auditions. I jumped at the opportunity, made the company and have been loving every minute of it. I feel like I've progressed as a dancer and, most importantly, have made some wonderful friends along the way.Well, we have a show coming up, Breaking Bounds, running from June 24-26 at 7 Stages Theater and I'm telling everyone in the Atlanta area to COME SEE US!SIDEWAYS inspires change by presenting social and political opinion through the art of dance and that's exactly what you're doing to see in Breaking Bounds. We present a number of social and political issues including abuse, post traumatic stress, relationship dynamics and more. Director Charlotte Foster has done an excellent job of representing a number of issues in an open and discussion-inviting way.
