Just this week, Shakira was reported to replace Christina Aguilera as coach on The Voice for its next season because the latter will be going on tour this fall to promote her new album. However, the Colombian pop star surprised her fans with another big news – her pregnancy with her soccer beau, Gerard Pique.
There has been rumors going around about the pop star’s pregnancy but she just recently made it official through her website. According to the 35-year-old singer, she is “very happy awaiting the arrival of [her] first baby!”
She further went on to write on her website, “At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days.” Hence, the singer will also cancel her supposed performance in Las Vegas for the iHeartRadio festival.
The Spanish-born Pique, 25, and Shakira are reportedly expecting a baby boy, which she is due to deliver in January. The duo had been dating since March 2011, which follows her split from long-time boyfriend Antonio de la Rua, with whom she was with for 11 years!
