Shadow Of The Wolf

There’s a film out there on video-on-demand, which thanks to Lionsgate, has audio description. I reviewed it a few weeks back on my YouTube channel, and it just isn’t an inspiring film to talk about. It is an Italian werewolf horror, and it is just interesting to think that as Jane Austen Wrecked My Life opens today, this random international title lucked into audio description. There’s a reason, and his name is Christopher lambert.

there are quite a few low budget films being pushed out at Lionsgate with actors who are big names, but don’t star in the films they are advertised in. Sylvester Stallone definitely isn’t the lead of Alarum, and Christopher Lambert certainly shouldn’t be used to draw people into this film. it is almost like the Ana de armas in yesterday thing, where she was in the trailer but not the film. He’s barely in this film, and his placement is awkward. He does that thing he does a lot where he offers either sage advice or exposition. that’s his career now, and I’m sure he got paid. He might have 60 seconds of time on screen.

My video already caught a comment from what I hope is a new fan that they had the displeasure of watching this, and they would have gladly paid Christopher Lambert to not do this film. I think it is more about not using him to market the film. I did like the audio description though. It isn’t a terribly violent or scary film, but the description did try to pull some teeth here, and get something to us out of the experience.

I guess we do get the occasional audio described international title. I just wish they were films better than Shadow of the Wolf.

Final Grade: D
