A police constable assigned for the night duty at the residence of MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka, was interdicted as he was under the influence of
liquor on the order of Colombo South Superintendent of Police on Monday.
The officer rode his motorcycle on the main road in an unsafe manner. A car which came behind his motorcycle has tried to prevent a crash as he was riding the motorcycle in unsafe manner on the road .By that time, the car has knocked the motorcylist who came from the opposite side.
The driver in the car had complained that the constable was under the influence of liquor. Later police has referred him to a medical officer to ascertain whether he was under the influence of liquor.
