Serena Williams, who gave birth to daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr. 5 months ago will be making her official competitive tennis return in February.
Serena is scheduled to return to the Fed Cup along with her sister, Venus Williams, to compete for the United States against the Netherlands in North Carolina on Feb. 10 and 11th according to the United States Tennis Association.
Serena Williams is set to play her first competitive match in more than a year, when Team USA begins the defense of its Fed Cup crown next month.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion joins seven-time major winner Venus Williams and world No. 9 CoCo Vandeweghe on the squad that will face the Netherlands in Asheville, N.C., Feb. 10-11.
The tennis champ, made a return to the court back in December in Abu Dhabi, for an exhibition match against Jelena Ostapenko. Even though the new mom and wife lost the match, critics felt she looked good seeing as though she hadn’t played tennis in about a year.
