Yom Kippur
- also known as Day of Atonement. The most solemn holy day of all the Israelite feasts and festivals, occurring once a year on the tenth day of Tishri, the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar. Jewish people traditionally observe this holy day with an approximate 25-hour period of fasting and intensive prayer, often spending most of the day in synagogue services.

Chewing Gum Day
- Sitting in his workshop one day, tired and discouraged, Thomas Adams popped a piece of surplus chicle stock into his mouth. In 1870, he opened the world's first chewing gum factory.
National Mulled Cider Day

National Mud Pack Day
- A day for learning and appreciating the use of mud on the face or really any part of the body. Mud has been known to have health properties for a very long time, and has been a popular way of sustaining beauty and staving off old age.
National Public Lands Day
- The nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and enhance the public lands Americans enjoy. In 2009, 150,000 volunteers built trails and bridges, removed trash and invasive plants, planted trees and restored our water resources.
