Sending Love: DIY Sundae Kits

By Icecreamed

For starters, you need to decide how DIY you want to make your kit. For example, are you going to buy sauces and toppings or make them yourself? If you are going to make them, do you have canning equipment or a way to pack the items so that they arrive in one piece?  Obviously, adding an element of homemade to your box will up the “wow” factor but there are also many items you can buy at your local grocery store that will work just fine!

Consider building your kit with:

  • Waffle cones or bowls

  • Hot Fudge

  • Caramel Sauce

  • Assorted Candies

  • Sprinkles

  • Marshmallows

  • Toffee

  • Cookies

  • Cherries

  • Canned Fruits

  • Tools (New Scoop or Spoons)

Remember: Do not mail any items under pressure (such as whipped cream) or any food items that aren’t properly sealed!

Most importantly, send a gift card or small amount of money so that they can pick up their favorite flavor of ice cream! Packaging makes these items look complete. Consider placing the items into clean plastic bags that are tied with baker’s twine or ribbon. Use cute labels or stickers to pull the package together. Pack the items tightly with tissue paper and send it out from your local post office.

Sending a package is a universal way of saying, “I love you!” Whether winter, spring or fall, your loved one is sure to appreciate this special gift.
