Actress Tina Lifford, who portrays aunt Violet Bordelon on OWN’s highly acclaimed series, Queen Sugar, talks about her character’s journey of self discovery in season 3.
Screen Shot OWN“When women experience Violet, they actually see their own possibilities.”
“In season one, Violet was the sister, the aunt, and in season 2 she became the matriarch, and in season 3 Violet is this flower that is unfolding,” Lifford shared in a video uploaded by OWN.
Tina continued,
“She is in this unintended place of self discovery.”
Aunt Vi and Hollywood are still together, and we get to see what happens with the proposal. She goes from making pies to becoming a successful business woman. Also, the Bordelon matriarch is still fighting for her life. We found out in season 2 that she had Lupus, so she’s fighting for the time to love and to live.
