Oscar-winning actor and director Sean Penn plays the iconic-and-elusive photographer Sean O'Connell, a character who beckons Walter Mitty into the big, wide open world. A man's journey through different locations in Greenland, Iceland and the Himalayas is craftily shown in “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”, a new movie directed, produced and starred by blockbuster actor Ben Stiller (some of you may remember him from Reality Bites, because I do).
Trivia: Word in the street, producer-directors Ron Howard and Steven Spielberg were previously interested in creating the remake and getting Kevin Anderson on board as Mitty. 20th Century Fox eventually proceeded to have the film made with Ben Stiller, Kristen Wiig, Shirley MacLaine, Patton Oswalt, Adam Scott, Sean Penn and Kathryn Hahn.
Meet Walter Mitty, a seemingly ordinary person who often daydreams. Just like the average person, Mitty is a modern-day dreamer, despite being an ordinary magazine photo editor. When Mitty and the co-worker he secretly likes (played by Kristen Wiig) face real-world danger, Mitty is forced to take real action, abandoning his safe world of daydreams and fantasies.
