Sea and Fog by @AdnanEtel

By Pamelascott

These interrelated meditations explore the nature of the individual spirit and the individual spiritedness of the natural world. As skilled a philosopher as she is a poet, in Sea & Fog, Adnan weaves multiple sonic, theoretical, and syntactic pleasures at once.

I thought Sea and Fog was a remarkable collection. It's not poetry so much as brief vignettes of varying length, some one line some up to a paragraph that encompass the idea of Sea and Fog. It's as if the author set a task to write down everything that came to mind in connection with these two words. The pieces touch on mythology, history and personal experiences. They are beautifully written, haunting and immersive. I really loved Sea and Fog.
