This is the first scrapbook page for my new weekly post Thursday Scrap. I will try and bring new ideas and techniques and revisit old favourites too. If you have any suggestions or requests just let me know and I will do my best to accommodate these. My aim is to list the products I have used with links to retailers (preferably independent stores) and if I find any bargains I will let you know! I usually work in a 12" x 12" format as this allows me more space to experiment and get arty! Materials:Smooth white Bazzill
Distress Ink Pads Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans
VersaFine in black
Indigoblu stamps Sarah's Choice, Nature 1, and Splattered Heart,
Dina Wakely media stencil Daisies
Tim Holtz Mini Paper Clips
So to start I took a 12 x 12 piece of smooth white Bazzill and tore around the edges.
Using a distress tool and Distress Ink (DI) pad Tumbled Glass I inked around the torn edges of the card varying the amount of card inked. This is just to give a bit more interest to the overall look.
I used a stencil and DI Tumbled Glass to randomly add some patterns to the inked card.
I place layers/photos in place as I work to make sure I am getting the feel I want even if I am following a sketch or using a kit.
You will notice a hole in the second piece of Bazzill above, this is because where possible I try not to waste card so I will cut out areas that will be covered to use elsewhere. I used DI Faded Jeans and the Splattered Heart stamp randomly all over.
At this stage I wanted to tie the two ink colours together, so I used a butterfly stamp (Nature 1) and DI Faded Jeans and stamped onto the Tumbled Glass.
Lastly I stamped a journal block (Sarah's Choice) in black VersaFine and added it to the layout using a paperclip.
