Scoring-chances for and Against -above Replacement

By Kicks @Chrisboucher73
This post will take each Montreal Canadiens player's scoring-chance numbers, and compare them to the average produced by players who also play that player's position. The scoring chance numbers are taken from every Montreal 2013-14 regular season and 2014 playoff game. A list of all the events tracked within this system can be found here.
The scoring-chance number included here are part of my data-generated player tracking system. A player is credited with a scoring-chance for or against only when he is directly involved, or directly responsible for the play that produced the scoring-chance. A chance occurs when a team attempts a shot, or deflects a puck toward the net while positioned in the slot.
EVEN-STRENGTH SCORING-CHANCES FOR PER-60 ABOVE REPLACEMENT
A player is credited with a scoring-chance-for when he is directly involved in the play that produced the scoring-chance. It is important to note that defensemen average substantially fewer scoring-chances for per-60 than forwards. That said, this graph compares defensemen with defensemen, wingers with wingers, and centres with centres.

EVEN-STRENGTH SCORING-CHANCES AGAINST PER-60 ABOVE REPLACEMENT
A player is credited with a scoring-chance-against when he is directly involved in the play that produced the scoring-chance. It is important to note that defensemen average substantially more scoring-chances against per-60 than forwards. That said, this graph compares defensemen with defensemen, wingers with wingers, and centres with centres.
For scoring-chances against above replacement, better players allow fewer scoring-chances. As such, the better defensive players will be below rather than above replacement. In other words, it's better for players to be to the left of center within this graph, than to the right.
