SclerodermaScleroderma is a skin disorder that causes tightening & hardening of the connective tissues. It is also named as long-term progressive disease. There are mainly two types of Scleroderma localized & systemic. The localized scleroderma affects your skin but the systemic scleroderma affects your blood vessels & internal organs including lungs & heart. Various signs & symptoms common in Scleroderma patients are thickened skin, cold toes or fingers that turn blue, white, or red, sores or ulcers on fingertips, muscle weakness, swollen joints, pain in joints, dry eyes, dry mouth, shortness of breath, heartburn, diarrhea, swelling, weight loss. In Allopathic, patients are given anti-inflammatory drugs like aspirin, ibuprofen, & steroids for scleroderma patients which is not the exact solution. So for getting relief from its symptoms, a patient should follow some of the home remedies that will manage this condition. Here are some of the home remedies that will treat this disease from root cause:

1. Turmeric

Turmeric is an ancient herb that is used for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, immuno-modulator properties. These properties of the herb reduce pain, swelling, & stiffness in the joints.

How to use

  1. Take a teaspoonful of pure turmeric powder & add in a glass of hot cow’s milk. Drink this milk once or twice daily.
  2. You can also prepare a powder of pure turmeric & store it in a container. Take a teaspoonful of this powder with a glass of water or add it in your cuisine for cooking purposes.

2. Garlic

Garlic is a herb that deals with the heartburn, muscle weakness, swelling, & inflammation of joints. This herb is easily available at home. So use this herb naturally for relieving your scleroderma problem.

How to use

  1. Chew one to two roasted garlic cloves early in the morning on an empty stomach.
  2. You can also make paste of garlic herb, apply it over the affected area of the skin. Leave this for 30 mins over the affected area of the skin after that rinse it off with normal water once daily.

3. Ginger

The herb Ginger inhibits the pain related to prostaglandins in scleroderma patients. This herb shows good antioxidant & anti-inflammatory properties.

How to use

  1. Take fresh ginger & grate it in two cups of water. Boil this until remaining one cup. Strain the mixture & drink this herbal tea once or twice daily.
  2. You can also take a fresh juice of ginger & consume it once or twice daily.

4. Onion

The herb onion reduces inflammation, stiffness, heartburn, muscle weakness, pain in joints, etc related to scleroderma. Onions are rich in compounds cepaene & thiosulfinates that shows anti-inflammatory properties. These properties reduce inflammation & swelling in scleroderma patients.

How to use

  1. Take onion extract & apply it over the affected part of the scleroderma for 30 minutes. After that remove this with normal water.
  2. You can use this herb for cooking purposes in your food.

5. Gotukola

The Gotukola herb is good for reducing the signs & symptoms related to scleroderma patients. It maintains the blood vessel health & overall circulation of the body.

How to use

  1. Take fresh leaves of herb Gotukola boil it in two cups of water until the remaining half cup. Strain the mixture & drink this herbal tea once or twice daily.
  2. The standardized extract of herb Gotukola capsules is available in the market. Consume one capsule twice daily with normal water.

6. Peppermint

The peppermint herb contains menthol in it that will provide a soothing effect on the body. The anti-inflammatory, digestive, & carminative properties of this herb reduces pain, inflammation, heartburn, swollen joints, diarrhea, dryness in the mouth, etc. This herb gives natural & effective results for scleroderma patients.

How to use

  1. Take fresh peppermint leaves & chew it early in the morning on an empty stomach.
  2. Make an herbal tea by taking six to ten leaves of peppermint in two cups of water. Boil this until remaining half cup, strain the mixture, let it cool down, & drink this herbal tea once or twice daily. It is the best home remedy for scleroderma patients.

7. Cinnamon

Cinnamon herb shows antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, & immuno-modulator properties. The Cinnamaldehyde is the active compound in Cinnamon.

How to use

  1. Take a stick of Cinnamon herb in two cups of water. Boil this until remaining one cup, strain the mixture until remaining one cup. Use this herbal tea once or twice daily.
  2. You can also take a teaspoonful of Cinnamon powder in a glass of water. Boil this until remaining half, strain the mixture. Drink this herbal decoction once daily.

Use any of the above home remedies for treating scleroderma disease naturally. These herbs are beneficial for relieving the signs & symptoms related to scleroderma patients.
