Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya yesterday ordered the officials of the Sri Lanka Police and the Criminal Investigation Department who were involved in the investigation of the death of Dinesh Schaffter to appear before the Government’s Analyst’s Department and provide blood samples in order to identify the two foreign biological samples found in the DNA report in relation to the death of Janashakthi Director Dinesh Schaffter.
The Additional Magistrate made this order after taking a motion filed by the CID into consideration. The court ordered a group of five officials from the CID and two police officials from the Borella Police be referred to the Government Analyst’s Department for a DNA test.
The CID on Wednesday presented a list of ten people to Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya for a comparison of DNA to identify the two alien bio-samples recorded in the reports regarding the death of Dinesh Shaffter, director of Janashakti Group.
The person who admitted Dinesh Shaffter to the Colombo National Hospital and the nurses of the National Hospital who gave him emergency treatment are included in that list.
