Scent – Paperback Cover Reveal

By Isabel Costello @isabelcostello

As promised a few weeks ago, today I’m very excited to share the cover for the paperback of my second novel Scent, which will be published on 19 May. I’ve been very lucky with covers, not least because I’ve always been involved.  This is the first time I’ve had a second cover for the same book and it’s a testimony to the talent of designer Jamie Keenan that he’s retained the strong central image of the first edition while evoking the Provence strand of the story and giving the palette a lovely summery refresh. Many thanks to him, to those whose generous words grace the front and back covers and of course to my wonderful publishers Muswell Press. As many of you know, this novel has taken me to a place I’m glad to have reached in my own life – which I couldn’t have imagined talking about when it first came out a year ago! – and I am proud and honoured that Scent is joining their outstanding LGBTQ list alongside writers I greatly admire including Jon Ransom and Golnoosh Noor.

*POSTSCRIPT*

The blog has gone part-time of late due to my other commitments and the unfortunate fact that I’m not managing to read at the same rate as before. But it’s a change of frequency, not quality, and I’m delighted to have visits scheduled from Ethan Joella (A Little Hope), Melissa Fu (Peach Blossom Spring) and Julie Owen-Moylan (That Green-Eyed Girl) in April and May. If you missed it, do check out Sophie Haydock’s recent Writers on Location post about Vienna, where much of her debut novel The Flames is set.
