The Open House Airshow at Edwards AFB is always worthwhile due to the possible appearance of some unique aircraft based locally. The 2009 show was the last one I attended and gave me an opportunity to photograph White Knight Two in flight as it made a flyby before landing. First flown in 2008, WK2 is the carrier aircraft for SpaceShipTwo. Together, WK2 and SS2 form the basis for Virgin Galactic’s fleet of suborbital spaceplanes.
