The Supreme Court issued an Interim Order yesterday (17) preventing the acceptance of nominations for the selection of members for the Kalmunai Municipal Council until the 19th of this month in relation to the Local Government Elections.
The Supreme Court made this order after considering a fundamental rights petition filed against the non-inclusion of “Saindamarudu” as a municipal council in the gazette notification issued calling for nominations for the holding of Local Government elections.
