Say Yes to Your Cheese Cravings with Tori Chizu’s Cheesy Dishes

By Clari @clarisaysblog
So you love cheese? Tori Chizu, a restaurant that offers a variety of delicious fusion of Japanese cuisines such as Doria or cheesy baked Japanese rice is a good place for cheese fanatics!

Early this week, I got the chance to visit one of Tori Chizu's branches in the metro along with other foodies. During the foodie meet up, we got to sample a variety of their cheesy dishes but before that let me share with you a couple of things.

Tori Chizu which literally means chicken and cheese is the brainchild of Scott Tan, managing director of Scottland Food Group Corp. Does the name sound familiar? Well, it should as the group manages Bonchon and Go Bento. Going back, Tori Chizu opened its very first branch in the metro on December 11, 2017. At present, they have a total of six branches: Eastwood Citywalk 2, Regis Center, Salcedo Village, SM Megamall, Trinoma, and UP Town Center.

What about the dishes they offer? As mentioned, Tori Chizu is known for their Doria or Japanese baked rice but they also offer other dishes such as Japanese style chicken, bento, tori donburi, ramen & mazemen, hambagu steak, pasta, hambagu sandwich, and desserts. We were able to sample the following:

Potato Takoyaki (Php 50)

I'm not familiar with Tori Chizu. This is, in fact, the first time I visited them so I didn't know what to expect. When I arrived at the restaurant, I was quite surprised by their bright yellow and orange color scheme. Don't get me wrong. I love the colors and it fits perfectly with the concept. It just that the overall ambiance; not to mention, their Anime music playlist, reminded me of the good old high school days. I was happy being there in that place.

What about the food? From all the dishes we sampled, the Beef Yakiniku Doria won my heart. The beef was quite sweet though but every layer is filled with goodness. If you haven't tried eating Doria, here's what you should do.

Step 1: Sprinkle some seasoning. (There's a small spice bottle on the table.)
Step 2: Mix it all together!
Step 3: Savor the cheesiness.

Besides the Beef Yakiniku Doria, I also enjoyed their Japanese style chicken which comes in umami, spicy umami, and extra spicy umami flavor. It's crunchy and very flavourful. If you can handle the spiciness, I suggest you try their extra spicy. BUT if you're feeling competitive, join their Spicy Umami Chicken secret level challenge! Just ask the cashier for the secret level. 😉

In case I convinced you to try it, make sure to have a cup of their Milkchiz Soft Serve on your side. 🙂 When I tried the secret level, I made sure I have that. Oh, and if you just want a quick bite, their Curry Honey Mustard Japadog w/ Cheese and BBQ Mayo Japadog w/ Cheese are great choices.

Since my visit here is through an invite, the question now is will I come back and become their customer? If I'm craving for their Beef Yakiniku Doria, chicken and Milkchiz Soft Serve, I will definitely be back. I might bring my younger cousins as well. The way I see it Tori Chizu is perfect for students and young adults for their affordable prices and of course, the cheese fanatics.

This Tori Chizu branch is located on the second floor of Trinoma, Bagong Pag-Asa, Quezon City.

My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Happy eating!
