Last Monday, Apple announced the official launch of iOS8, a new OS version for iPhone and iPad. iOS 8 was in beta version for developers since last June.

Apple also introduced 2 new iPhones : iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

What does it change regarding advertising in your mobile apps?

2 new screen sizes

The rumor is confirmed, the new iPhones screen sizes are larger.
iPhone 6 is 4.7 inches : 1334-by-750-pixel resolution at 326 ppi
iPhone 6 Plus is 5.5 inches : 1920-by-1080-pixel resolution at 401 ppi

New programming language : Swift

Swift works side-by-side with Objective C and makes it easier to develop applications thanks to more interactivity and simplified code.
There will be no need for a specific advertising SDK for Swift but Smart AdServer will provide developers with a dedicated Swift sample to help them integrate ad in their apps.

Stay tuned

The Smart AdServer mobile team has been working heavily on the update of its advertising SDK since June. As the iOS8 goldmaster is now released, the team is able to work with the latest version to finalize developments and will give access to the new ad SDK within a few days.

We will let you know as soon as everything is ready.
