COUNTERSHOCK is a compilation album featuring a killer line-up of some of the many awesome bands who have graced the stage in recent years at The Black Heart in Camden, London.
Sadly, after enduring the financially crippling restrictions enforced upon them amidst the Coronavirus pandemic, this much loved venue and vital part of the underground Heavy Music community is facing the real threat of permanent closure. But there is hope.
The Save The Black Heart Crowdfunding campaign has already garnered huge support but there is still a long way to go.
This album will be available at NYP on Spectral Hound Records Bandcamp with 100% of the proceeds received going to help save Our Black Heart.

The Black Heart is an integral part of the UK underground heavy music scene and international touring circuit. We are a host venue for festivals such as Desertfest, Incineration Fest and Camden Rocks. The list of incredible bands that have played in our venue includes Idles, The Bronx, Lightning Bolt, Every Time I Die, Venom Prison, Red Fang, Crowbar and YOB – to name just a few. Our aftershow parties, DJ nights and Halloween bashes are legendary. You were probably at some of these!
Its so important that we are successful and able to reopen. And its not just about us, its about the UK underground music scene and independent pubs and venue’s as a whole. Camden without us won’t be the same, many people will have lost their ‘home.’ The Black Heart is a family, a community and safe place for so many people. Our venue is considered the place to cut your teeth in terms of the UK underground and its always on the circuit for international bands.
We’ve been unsuccessful with all applications for funding so far and have had no rent relief from our landlords. The entirety of the £150,000 is for rent and without it we won’t reopen
