The issue of domestic violence doesn’t come to the forefront until it’s usually too late. More and more, our youth are displaying dysfunctional and violent behaviors in their relationships that, without intervention, will follow them into adulthood. In this area, cases of infamy include Yvette Cade who was set on fire by her then boyfriend and recently, Alecia Wheeler who after being denied a permanent protective order by Prince George’s County District Court, was stabbed to death in front of her children by her husband.
In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Sauciety, the National Harbor’s new American grill, and Celebrity Fashion Designer Kenneth “KAS” Flanagan have partnered for “Taste of Sauciety,” a fundraiser to benefit Saving Promise, a non-profit focused on domestic violence issues. On Thursday October 27 from 6 to 10 p.m., experience Sauciety’s new menu prepared by Executive Chef Will Moore and taste KAS’ new cognac, Celebrity Jazz and KAS’ new exclusive spirit, King KAS wine. Tickets are available at http://tastesauciety.eventbrite.com/.
The ticket price is $30 and includes an open bar and donation to Saving Promise. Live music will be provided by the R&B/Pop band CoolFire.
