Foodstirs.com is being launched by actress Sarah Michelle Geller who is beast know for staring in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Co-Founder & Chief Mom) in October 2015 according to a People.com Exclusive article published on September 8, 2015.
The Foodstirs.com current website states: “Our premium baking mixes and foodcrafting kits inspire creativity and curiosity, while emphasizing the importance of a healthier lifestyle.”
Interestingly, the companies brand name as a domain name has been registered since October 19, 2012 and has been under whois privacy protection since creation.
According to Screenshots.com, the domain already had a website on it and had a different look and logo even pretty recently, as of January 3, 2015 than it does today. Actually a fully developed website on Foodstirs.com existed dating back to at least June 2014.
Archive.org shows the fully developed site/brand (above) dating back to 2014 showing the website and its founder Galit Laibow is displayed on the sites “About~ Our Story” page.
To note, several products were offered ranging from about $12.99-$167.99
Que in celebrity actress Sarah Michelle Geller and People.com does a People Exclusive article about Sarah Michelle launching a “new” “cooking and lifestyle brand called Foodstirs”?
New for Sarah?… but this whole thing isn’t “new” IMO. Does the bag and box above from the website in 2014 look anything like the photo from the People.com September 2015 article here?
The People.com article does clear things up a little and mentions: “After setting up a day of baking with their daughters, Gellar and Foodstirs co-founder Galit Laibow (“mom friend” Gia Russo is the third co-founder) went in search of an artificial-free mix. “We went to the supermarket to get a mix and were really surprised that there was no better-for-you baking option,” says Gellar. “I thought baking included butter, sugar and water and I couldn’t even pronounce half the ingredients in these mixes. So, we did some research and made our own from scratch.”
No mention in the September 8, 2015 People.com article that the brand being available prior, as early as June 2014 according to Archive.org and then founder Galit Laibow.
Sorry folks, nothing “new” here really.
I would be a bit more happy/satisfied if the People.com article said something like a “re-launch” of the Foodstirs brand with Sarah as the face of the brand or something like that! But, NO… “Surprise! Sarah Michelle Gellar has started a new cooking and lifestyle brand called Foodstirs!”
Does the the whole “Sarah Michelle Gellar has started a new cooking and lifestyle brand” thing sound all that true knowing the Foodstirs.com site / brand was already available from Co-Founder (then founder) Galit Laibow as early as June 2014?
Branding is important! No “Surprise” to the masses, but really? “Sarah Michelle Gellar has started a new cooking and lifestyle brand”? You decide how much of that is factual and how much this is a branding push!
