York Wedding Photographer

As a York wedding photographer, I am constantly amazed by the fantastic diversity of the wedding venues in the York area. From rustic barns, grand mansions, & super cool industrial spaces – there really is something for everyone! Riding high on our list of amazing York wedding venues is Sandburn Hall. Originally conceived as a golf course, over the years Sandburn Hall has devoted a lot of love and attention to transforming itself into a truly special setting for weddings. With beautiful gardens – just perfect for outside ceremonies and onsite luxury log cabins set in spectacular woodland – Sandburn Hall wedding photography has never looked so good. As York wedding photographers, we absolutely adore working at Sandburn Hall and so we were super-excited when Nathalie & Josh invited us to join them at the hall to photograph their big day!

Peaky Blinders Themed Wedding at Sandburn Hall

In true Sandburn Hall wedding photography style, the day started out with a super relaxed morning prep. While Jaye was nearby with Nathalie at her house, I met up with Josh in one of the beautiful Griffon Forest Lodges. Getting ready on site does so much for taking the stress out of days. Knowing that the venue is an easy stroll away, means you don’t have to worry about travel but can really kick back and enjoy the moment. Josh and the guys were in fantastic spirits and clearly set on enjoying every second of their morning. The woodland backdrops are a York wedding photographers dream and with the sun shining, I just knew we were in for a super fun day!

The excitement mounted as we arrived at the venue and the guests started to arrive. Sandburn Hall is aptly named and the beautiful ceremony hall with its spectacular, giant windows is a stunning setting for any wedding. Sandburn Hall wedding photography really benefits from the beautiful light that floods this amazing room. In a ceremony filled with laughter and fun (and the occasional happy tear), Josh and Nathalie were finally married. A flurry of confetti followed the happy couple down the aisle and then it was outside for some hugs and kisses and to soak up some more of that glorious sunshine.

The weather was just perfect and it wasn’t long before we were whisking Nathalie & Josh off for some photos in the gardens. As a York wedding photographer, I just love days like these. The gardens at Sandburn Hall are gorgeous, providing an intimate setting for some super-relaxed wedding photography. Nathalie and Josh were straight on the swing and after a few giggles, some kisses and lots of fantastic photos, we re-joined their guests to continue the party.

Peaky Blinders had provided the inspiration for Nathalie and Josh’s décor and their guests were happy to join in on the fun – attired in all manner of amazing, 1920’s inspired fashion. Now dressed for the wedding breakfast, the hall looked suitably Peaky-Blinder-fantastic and it wasn’t long before Nathalie, Josh and their guests were tucking into a feast. After the meal, it was time for the speeches and Nathalie’s dad soon had everyone rolling around in their seats with his masterful delivery. It wasn’t long before Sandburn Hall was full of loud laughter, happy conversation and big expressions – we just love weddings where everyone is this up for a good time!

Post meal, everyone was feeling super content – happy to enjoy the cool evening air and after dinner conversation. As the sun began to set, we took Nathalie & Josh off for a few more photos – taking advantage of the golden glow and perfect setting that makes Sandburn Hall wedding photography so special. Then, it was time to go back inside and get on those dancing shoes!

I’m happy to report that Nathalie & Josh danced the night away and the party was still going strong when it came time for us to leave. It was the end of fantastic day full of awesome, Sandburn Hall wedding photography and one that makes me really glad that I’m a York wedding photographer.
