Samsung Revealed Details for the New Exynos 1280 Chipset

Posted on the 22 April 2022 by Geetikamalik

Samsung has begun sending a phone with the exynos 1280 chipset, including the Galaxy A53, A33, and M33, but the company doesn’t really say a lot about new chips. Now the company has (late) reveals details about new designs, which is likely to appear on a more medium Samsung mobile phone for the coming months.

Exynos 1280 was built in the 5-nanometer EUV process, using a combination of four core CORE A78 cores and four core cortex A55. While the company has worked on AMD-based graphics for its flagship chipset, such as Exynos 2200 found in the International Galaxy S22 Series (which has several performance problems), this chip uses the typical Mali G68 Arm graphics. There is also an image sensor with support up to 108MP and 4K @ 30fps video recording.

5G is an important selling point for manufacturers and telephone operators, so it might not be surprising that Exynos 1280 supports newer wireless technology. The default modem can connect to the sub-6GHz and mmwave 5G, although there may be several cellphones with chipsets that are not built for mmwave. Samsung said on its website, “in the sub-6GHz, the processor supports downlink and uplink speeds up to 2.55Gbps and 1.28Gbps.”

The Exynos chipset rarely makes appearances outside Samsung’s own cellular lineup, so don’t expect to see a new chip on the phone to come from brands like Motorola or Xiaomi, but it’s likely to appear on more Samsung phones for the coming months (or maybe. year).
