The world of mobile technology is getting more and more interesting, isn’t it? It isn’t very long back when many people didn’t even have a landline telephone. But now, even smartphones have become common and we have gadgets like smartwatches and smart glasses.

When it comes to wearable gadgets, Samsung is definitely positioned at the forefront of the race. On 21st January, 2016, Samsung has brought its Virtual Reality Headset – Samsung Gear VR in India.

Gear VR is compatible with all of Samsung’s latest premium range smartphones like Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 edge+, S6 and S6 edge. It has been introduced in association with Oculus and Samsung assures that it will provide the users with ‘next level’ of entertainment with more 2D, 3D content, 360 videos, experiential content and more immersive gaming experience.

To enhance the user comfort, this wearable device has been made of lightweight materials and is equipped with flexible cushioning, Ergonomic adjustable straps. Its viewing experience is powered by the superAMOLED display of the compatible Samsung smartphones. It allows the user a 96 degree viewing field for more immersive viewing experience. It is also equipped with a Pass-Through feature that gives notifications of the incoming calls and messages.

As for content, there are currently over 150 games and apps available for Samsung Gear VR. These can be downloaded from the Oculus Store. The Gear VR can also be paired with a game pad. It can enhance the movie viewing experience with its Cinema, Multi-Screen and Home Theater features. There are 360 degree virtual tours also available for those interested in traveling. The VR Internet Browser helps in viewing the content in the scaled up Cinema mode. The VR Gallery app also enhances the experience of viewing photos.

Samsung Gear VR is available on Flipkart and Samsung’s retail channels at the price of INR 8,200.
