In a grand launch ceremony held in New Delhi on 18, July, 2013, Samsung launched their latest addition to the range of tablet devices. The device comes as a successor of Tab 2 and hence is called Tab 3. With the launching of this Tab 3 series, Samsung now has a range of 5 tablets available in Indian markets priced between Rs 17, 745 to Rs. 38,840.
Announcing the launch, Mr. Vineet Taneja, Country Head, Samsung Mobile and Imaging Business, stated, “Ever since we pioneered the introduction of tablets in India in the year 2010 , we have fueled the growth of this segment through our innovative Tab portfolio; the most recent being the Note 800 and the Note 510.The Tab 3 series carries forward the Samsung legacy of innovation by offering consumers the benefit of the smartest screen , an unmatched performance , smart usability coupled with a host of applications that allow consumers’ to personalize and thereby enrich their experience with the device .”

The slim and light weigh Tab 3 series allows for easy handling whether watching video, playing games, browsing on net or reading ebooks. Tab 3 features Samsung’s “Sound Alive” for audio and Dolby Digital Sound for Video Play. All versions of Tab 3 also have Menu, Home and Back physical keys on the bezel at bottom just like Samsung’s smartphones.

Tab 3 3111 comes loaded with several features like Multi Window (split screen functionality allows the use of two different apps simultaneously), Pop Up Video (resizeable video player window that can run over other apps, also available on Tab 3 211), Smart Stay (tracking of user’s eyes to keep the screen light on for as long as the user’s eyes are focused on it), Reading Mode (for optimum reading experience).
The GALAXY Tab 3 311 also features S Translator (for easy, anywhere translation of content via text or voice input) and TripAdvisor App that provides useful information regarding places, foods, hotels etc.
