In a recent post I talked about how one major reason for Samsung’s increasing success is the choice it offers to the consumers. Here’s yet another instance of the same. Following the success of Galaxy SIII, Samsung has now unveiled Galaxy SIII Mini for those who want to enjoy SIIIs look, features and user interface, but their budget doesn’t permit the purchase of original SIII.
While SIII is a high end device, SIII Mini is expected to be a mid-range device with moderate price tag. It bears the same nature-inspired look of SIII and also has SIII’s popular features like NFC, S Beam, S Voice etc. But it is a smaller device (though not really mini!) with lower hardware specifications compared to SIII.
SIII Mini will not just be easier to fit in the budget, it will be easier to fit in the pocket as well and more comfortable to hold because of its smaller size.
Let’s take a quick look at some of its specs.:
Screen size: 4 inch
Display: Super AMOLED display with WVGA resolution of 800 x 480 (SIII has resolution of 720 *1280 HD)
OS: Android 4.1.1 (Jelly Bean)
Processor: 1 GHz dual core processor (SIII has 1-4 GHz Quad Core processor)
RAM: 1 GB
Memory: 8 or 16 GB internal memory, expandable upto 32 GB using MicroSD card
Camera: 5 MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash, VGA front camera (SIII has 8 MP rear camera, 1.9 MP front camera)
Battery: 1,500 mAh (SIII has 2100mAh battery)
Don’t know yet when the SIII Mini would be available in India and what exactly it would cost. But hopefully, the details would be available soon.
