A few days ago, Samsung launched two new mid-range smartphones, the Samsung Galalxy On5 and On7. Both come packaged with decent specifications and some new features that Samsung first introduced in their Tizen based Z3.
Both On5 and On7 have been made in India. Both these smartphones are 4G enabled. But as can be guessed from the names, On7 has better specifications than On5 and comes at a higher price.
Samsung Galaxy On5 is equipped with 1.3 GHz Quad Core Exynos3475 processor. It has Android 5.1 (Lollipop) operating system. On5 has 5" HD Display with 720X1280 resolution. It measures 142.3 x 72.1 x 8.5 mm and weighs 149 g. It is a Dual Sim phone and has 8 GB internal storage and 1.5GB RAM. The internal storage can be expanded with Micro SD card up to 128 GB. The device is powered by 2,600 mAh battery.
Galaxy On5 has 8 MP AF w/ LED Flash Rear camera and 5 MP front camera. The camera is capable of Full HD (1920 x 1080) @30fps video recording.
Samsung Galaxy On7 has 1.2 GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 8 GB internal storage (expandable with microSD card upto 128GB) and 1.5Gb RAM. It too runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) operating system. On7 has a bigger screen display. It has 5.5" HD Display with 720 x 1280 resolution. It measures 151.8 x 77.5 x 8.2mm and weighs 171 g. The device has 3000 mAh battery power.
On7 has 13 MP AF w/ LED Flash rear camera and +5 MP front camera. The camera modes include Auto, Beauty Face, Continuous Shot, Interval Shot, Panorama, Pro,Selfie, Wide Selfie. The camera is capable of Full HD (1920 x 1080) @30fps video recording.
The important features of both phones include UDS (Ultra Data Saving) Mode, 4G Download Booster, MixRadio and My Galaxy app
Both phones have 4G LTE capability which helps in faster web browsing and uploads and downloads. To help save the data, both smartphones also have UDS (Ultra Data Saving) which has been designed to help the user save on data cost by data compression and management.
MixRadio provides users with an immense variety of free music, including songs in regional Indian language. My Galaxy app makes available user centric deals and offers and make it easier for the user to contact customer care and Samsung service centers.

Both the devices are available in Gold and Black colour options, exclusively at Flipkart. On7 is priced at INR 10,990 and On5 is priced at INR 8,990.
At this price range, the devices offer decent specifications. The 8GB internal storage is disappointing though. Also, the absence of ambient light sensor might make the display harder to view in sunlight. The features like UDS, MixRadio and My Galaxy are useful and offer lot of free and discounted stuff to the users. Not all will like the additional load of these apps though.
