Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 & Galaxy Grand — A SunDroid Rush Ultimate Offer

Sun Cellular has added recently to its SunDroid Rush offering an ultimate pair of two of the top-of-the-line Samsung Devices–the newly released Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet and the Galaxy Grand smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy Grand (above) is the latest of Samsung’s Dual-SIM capable phone and was released just before the Galaxy S4. It has 1.2GHz Dual-core engine and an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. Review

This latest SunDroid offering can be availed under Sun’s two postpaid plans – Sun Plan 1799 and Sun Plan 1999. Sun Plan 1799, gives you unlimited mobile Internet, unlimited texts to all networks and 100 minutes of Sun calls. The Sun Plan 1999 already includes unlimited Sun calls and texts, unlimited landline calls, 60 minutes IDD calls but only 250 texts to other networks.

I have subscribed to the Sun Plan 1799 with the following breakdown:

P1,399/month for 30-month locked-in contract
P400/month amortization of the two devices for 24-months

The two devices are worth around P40,000 if you’ll buy it in retail stores. Prevailing price for the Galaxy Note 8.0 is around P24,000 while the Grand is around P16,000. Doing simple mathematics. If you’ll divide the total amount (40,000) by the number of monthly amortizations (24) you’ll have a quotient of around P1,666 which is four times than the actual amount to be collected by Sun. So, it’s worth the money.

Sun Cellular started its SunDroid Rush offering last year with the tandem of Alcatel’s T10 tablet and OneTouch 903D @ P600/month, inclusive of Unli Sun Calls & Texts, 350 text to other networks, and P250 consumable that can be used for mobile internet and calls to other network.

The SunDroid Rush is marketed under the presumption that a subscriber can both use Sun’s call and text service and data connection. The tablets offered in all the SunDroid Rush are only Wi-Fi capable and therefore gets its data connection from the accompanying smartphone via WiFi hotspot.
