Samsung has recently announced a budget Android smartphone dubbed as the Samsung Galaxy Fame S6810. The new device was launched in February 2013 and could be released sometimes in the first or second quarter of the year. Tech analysis put the selling price under RM550 or US$183.
Under the hood, the new device feature a 1 GHz processor and powered by Android v4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It has 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage which is expandable via microSD up to 64GB. The 3.5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display produces a resolution of 320×480 (256K colours, ~165 ppi pixel density) and is equipped with a 1,300mAh battery. At the rear it has a 5MP main camera and a front facing VGA camera.
The main camera offers resolution at 2592×1944 pixels, autofocus and also with LED flash and can shoot video at 25fps. It measures at 113.2 x 61.6 x 11.6 mm (4.46 x 2.43 x 0. 46 in) and weighs at 120.6 g (4.23 oz). There is also a variant of this model given the name as the Samsung Galaxy Fame S6810P with NFC.
