True Blood’s Sam Trammell joins some famous West Virginians in the campaign to make reading a priority.
Actress Jennifer Garner and actors John Corbett and Sam Trammell are promoting reading under a project promoted by the state Department of Education, Read Aloud West Virginia, the state’s library commission and the Imagination Library.
The Read WV program is designed to encourage children and their parents and grandparents to make reading a priority early in life.
The celebrities are appearing in radio and television ads that ask, “What are you reading, West Virginia?”
West Virginia’s teacher of the year, Drema McNeal, will also take part in the campaign. She’s a sixth-grade teacher at Park Middle School in Raleigh County.
