True Blood’s Sam Trammell has joined Naomi Watts, Elle Fanning and Susan Sarandon in the transgender drama “Three Generations.”
Gaby Dellal is directing the indie, which Nikole Beckwith wrote from an original idea by Dellal. It centers on a New York City teen, Ray (Fanning), who has decided to transition from female to male and the impact of her decision on her single mother (Watts) and her grandmother (Sarandon), a music manager living with her lesbian partner and having her own conflict with Ray’s mother. Tate Donovan will co-star as a boyfriend of Ray’s mother.
Sam will play the younger brother of Donovan’s character. He’s the more free-spirited of the siblings and works in construction.
