Ryzen 3 3100 and 3300X Price In India

Indian gamers and enthusiasts feel left out when it comes to great deals on computer hardware. The Ryzen 5 1600AF which was meant to be on sale for $85, a great deal by the way, was never made available in India.

But this time, Indians are getting a pretty sweet deal on Ryzen 3 3100 and especially the 3300X price.

Ryzen 3 3300X vs 7700K

If you remember correctly, only 3 years ago Intel’s top consumer chip offering was the core i7 7700K with 4 cores and 8 threads – that’s the same core and thread count of the Ryzen 3 3300X and the Ryzen 3 3100.

Same core count couldn’t possibly mean these Ryzen 3 chips can perform as good as the gaming king, or could it?

Well, reviewers like JayzTwoCents have done their part and provided some factual figures comparing the Ryzen 3 3300X vs 7700K. And the results are SHOCKING!

Apart from synthetic workloads (programs designed to stress test the CPU but no practical program utilizes that much CPU), the Ryzen 3 3300X vs 7700K battle was toe-to-toe in games as well.

This only means that the 3300X price at around ₹11K is more than justified once you consider that the i7 7700K was being sold at over ₹30K only three years ago, and is still being sold at over ₹20K!

What a turnaround!

Ryzen 3 3100 vs 3300X

Both the Ryzen 3 3100 and the 3300X boast very similar specs. Apart from difference in core and boost clocks (3300X boosts higher than Ryzen 5 3600 I used in my build), there’s nothing much to separate these two.

Same number of cores and threads, same amount of L1, L2 and L3 cache, but does that mean same performance though?

What’s different in 3100 vs 3300X is the design under the hood. The CCX or the Core Complex structure of 3100 is such that there are two cores on each of two CCX’s.

On the other hand, 3300X has all 4 cores on a single CCX translating to faster core-to-core communication and hence better performance.

Thus, the Ryzen 3 3300X will perform better, especially in games, as compared to the 3100.

Ryzen 3 3100 vs 3300X, B550 and Indian Budget Gamers

All that talk about how good the next-gen AMD processors are is useless if we can’t see any change in the current PC hardware market.

Sure, COVID-19 has pushed prices higher again, and even if all things get back to normal, people will find it difficult to spend money on luxury items like Gaming Computers. But any competition in any price segment is great for consumers, and budget PC market is always buzzing.

Ryzen 3 3100 and 3300X price makes it difficult to recommend used hardware anymore, as best bang for buck has shifted to new market for the first time in decades!

The B550 chipset, AMD’s latest offering to budget motherboards and B450 successor has brought many gifts to budget gamers as well. PCIe Gen 4.0 gets available to the budget market, and with support for upcoming Ryzen 4th gen processors, B550 motherboards will provide excellent value while keeping the list of features long enough.

Build This PC If You Are Still Confused

Sure, there are lot of comparisons available on the internet about different processors at any price point, and lot of platforms to choose from. But if you are a looking for purely gaming PC on budget, just build this PC I spec out for you:

  • Processor: Ryzen 3 3300X
  • Motherboard: Asus Prime B550 or Gigabyte Aorus B550 Motherboard
  • RAM: 2x8GB DDR4 (3200MHz recommended, you can go with 3000MHz too)
  • GPU: Anything from GTX 1650 Super to 2070 Super.
  • Storage: 250-500GB m.2 nvme SSD (I prefer the Corsair MP510) and 1-2TB 7200rpm HDD
  • Power Supply: At least 80+ Bronze model of your choice. Check usage of components before you buy.
  • Case: Any mid-tower with enough ventilation will do!
  • CPU Cooler: Not required as 3300X runs cool with included Wraith Stealth cooler.

If you don’t want to build a PC yourselves or don’t know how to do it, order a Prebuilt PC from Id10tBuilds. They will surely have something with 3300X and a price to match!
