Ryan Seacrest Will Be the New Wheel of Fortune Host: An End to Assumptions

When Pat Sajak announced that he will hang his boots after the completion of the 41st season of Wheel of Fortune, the popular opinion was that his daughter Maggie Sajak could be the successive host considering how she had worked in and around the show on many occasions. Putting an end to such speculation Ryan Seacrest has confirmed his appointment as the new host after the veteran Pat Sajak retires

He wrote, “I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak.” He added, “I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them.” He ended the tweet saying, “I can’t wait to continue the tradition of spinning the wheel and working alongside the great Vanna White.

Ryan Seacrest has previously hosted American Idol and worked as a co-host on Live with Kelly and Ryan. As he shared in his tweet, one of Seacrest’s first jobs was hosting a little game show called Click. He calls hosting Wheel of Fortune a full circle moment for him. 

Ravi Ahuja, the chairman of global television studios at Sony Pictures, thinks Seacrest is the perfect person to take the legacy of the show forward. “Ryan loves Wheel as much as we do”, he added. Pat Sajak will be associated with Wheel of Fortune for three years as a consultant after his retirement.
