Ryan Phillippe’s Messy Domestic Dispute Continues To Be Messy
Back in September, we got a teaser taste of what the The Secret Life of Ryan Phillippe might look like when his ex-girlfriend Elsie Hewitt filed a police report accusing Ryan of putting the hurt on her in a drug and alcohol-fueled rage. With the exception of a temporary protection order, nothing panned out criminally. But Elsie went ahead and filed a civil suit against Ryan for $1 million dollars.
Ryan has vehemently maintained his innocence throughout, and was quick to lawyer up and threaten a countersuit for defamation and malicious prosecution. Now we’re getting another little taste of how Ryan rolls. He filed that countersuit and posted about it on Twitter.
According to People, Ryan’s team maintains that Elsie is full of lies. Ryan’s sticking to the story that Elsie showed up drunk, broke in, acted a fool and fell down the stairs. Ryan’s suit also accuses Elsie of wrongfully filing a police report against him. Additionally, Ryan says that this is all just a cash grab and a publicity stunt. Furthermore, Ryan would like it known that he was raised by women so he couldn’t have done it. People reports:
He further says in his suit that he “was raised by women in a household where women’s rights, feminism, and advocacy were very much at the forefront, and he is sickened to have been falsely accused of domestic violence.”
Further, furthermore Ryan would like it known that Elise wasn’t even ever his girlfriend.

Meanwhile, Elsie’s team would like to know where the defamation suit Ryan promised is, suggesting Ryan can’t disprove all of the allegations against him. According to E! News:
Hewitt’s attorney Keith A. Fink issued the following statement in response: “If the claims were defamatory why didn’t Mr. Philippe sue Elsie for defamation like he claimed he would? How is there not ‘one shred of truth’ in her complaint?”
Elsie’s lawyer says they have a corroborating witness and text messages confirming her side of the story. He adds that he looks forward to Ryan’s deposition, where “he can under the penalty of perjury answer for his actions.”
Looks like this mess isn’t going away anytime soon. Ryan better get his affairs in order PDQ, because I have a feeling ex-wife Reese isn’t going to like all this public messiness tarnishing her family’s holidays. Otherwise somebody is going to have to explain to the kids why daddy got jumped by a little blond elf with a stocking full of nickles.
