Ryan Kwanten (Jason Stackhouse) has already lined up a film for True Blood’s next hiatus. The HBO series isn’t set to go back into production until next month for season 6. But the Australian native has already signed up to do the film Cut Snake with actors Sullivan Stapleton and Rachael Taylor according to Deadline.
Cut Snake centers around two ex-cons who set fire to a night club. Stapleton and Kwanten will play the ex-cons while Taylor will play the fiancee of Kwanten’s character. The script is based on a real-life incident in which a club called the Whiskey Au Go Go in Brisbane was set on fire killing 15 people in 1973.
Stapleton’s character in the film will be released from jail and persude Kwanten’s character, who is about to be married to Taylor and trying to go straight to pull off a robbery.
Production is set to begin in mid 2013.
