Rutina Wesley (Tara Thornton) is returning to the stage in an Off Broadway play entitled One Night. The play penned by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Charles Fuller centers upon women in the military and how their decision to serve puts them into a battle of their own with their fellow soldiers. Fuller also wrote the play a Solider’s Play which was later turned into the film A Solider’s Story.
The news of Rutina’s casting came over the weekend via a report from Showbiz 411. Another actress was slated to play opposite Grantham Coleman. Due to scheduling changes for the play, the actress dropped out and now Rutina will take the stage in the role.
One night opens November 6, 2013 at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York and closes December 15th, 2013. For more information and to buy tickets click here.
