Rustic Summer Wedding at Courti Estate with Lovely Florals │Hannah and Ed

By Eleni Balkouli @Love4Wed

There is a reason why Hannah and Ed chose Courti Estate for their lovely summer wedding… The luxuriously rustic style of the venue along with its natural beauty was the absolute perfect setting for their wedding day! Surrounded by their relatives and friends, the couple had their outdoor ceremony in front of a semi-circle arch decorated with fabulous blooms in pastel hues while the same pretty flowers were filled their reception tables, creating a rustic yet romantic scene. We are so excited to share with you all these beautiful moments!

“We met in early 2014 in London … let’s just say it was via tinder!! I actually moved to New Zealand 7 months later for a year… fast forward sept 2015 I flew back and the first day back we saw each other, and the rest is history! We moved in together in Sept 2017, got a puppy… went on some amazing adventures visiting different countries together. Christmas 2019 I got told that our dog had done something bad in the garden… (we were at my nan’s house at the time) it was muddy, wet and cold , so I put on a pair of flip flops and a huge coat that wasn’t mine to see what the trouble was all about. Got to the end of the garden and i could see that the apple orchard that was my grandad’s pride and joy before he passed away in 2017 filled with fairy lights and something hanging off it.. he got down on one knee and asked me the question!! the funny part of the proposal is that Ed could only find a tape measure to hang the ring from the tree branch…. I have a photo to proof it! The location itself was a very special place as it felt like my grandad was there celebrating with us in spirit”.

Bride’s advice: “Just enjoy every moment from the planning side! I loved it! The wedding day itself went so quickly that I just wanted to do it all over again!”

“Our vision for our wedding was to be a very relaxed summer one abroad. My husband is Greek and we chose Corfu as the venue to suit our guest list. We spent time finding the right venue and once this was established we commenced developing the “vision”. We created a mood board to keep our vision on track. The vision we had, was based on five napkin colours I had seen in a magazine. From these colours we sourced fabric and created our color theme for decorations, bridesmaid dresses, everything really was created around those colours. Most decorations were bespoke made from the fabrics we had purchased. All complimented the table decorations together with greenery arrangements on the tables and handmade wooden tables names. The night before the wedding we collected pebbles from the beach and used these as name place cards. The ambience of the event, the vibrant colours of cinnamon, blush pink, rustic gold, burgundy, oatmeal cream and deep salmon of the bridesmaid’s dresses, the sun shining, the hum of everybody mingling together was amazing and created the right mood for all the proceedings we undertook. Our whole wedding day was surreal and all the planning for it allowed us to experience a wonderful day in an incredible setting, a day that many memories were made”.

“Well due to covid, we were meant to get married in June 2021. I bought my wedding dress in August 2020… so I had my dress for almost 2 years until I could finally wear it. I went for a tight fitted dress with a beautiful back that really showed the dress off. It was ivory and mocha with a stunning lace train”.

“Our first dance was our favorite moment of the wedding. We wanted something different than the typical slow, romantic dance. Don’t get me wrong slow dances are beautiful, but for myself and Ed it’s not us. We ended up mixing 11 songs that represented ‘US’ some of which was traditional songs from Greek side. I had an outfit change which was a matching set of sparkly shorts and a top. It was crazy but our guests were really caught of guard as they were not expecting a dance quite like our one!”
