A good article in The Guardian on how Russia, under Putin’s soft-dictatorship, is cracking down on dissenters who dare challenge established authorities.

Focused on the trials of the Bolotnaya-28 (28 jailed protesters being corruptly tried who were arrested in the aftermath of a rally on Bolotnaya Square on 6 May 2012), the article’s main point is that any form of criticism of the current regime will be punished by law.
