I saw something very similar to this happen once. Not to a polar bear, of course. But to a person. And (I'm ashamed to say this) I couldn't help but laugh. What I saw was not quite as destructive as what's shown in this one-minute video uploaded by hoopy316 on May 13, 2007. But it was pretty darned close:
