On today's episode of East Coast / West Coast Booze Tastings, we'll be reviewing a super high octane rum (65% ABV!) called Rhumb Runner Belize Travellers 12 Year Old Rum which as the name suggests, was distilled in Belize. This high-proof spirit is brought into the US by our dear friend Raj Sabharwal of Glass Revolution Imports. Here's what they have to say about this particular variety of tropical fire water:
Very limited release -only 251 bottles worldwide. This Collector Cask Series, from Traveller Liquors in Belize City, Belize, is true cask to bottle. No water, additives, coloring or special filtering was used to achieve its rich coloring and flavors. 100% of this rum entered a single barrel 12 years before bottling, during which time only the Angels were allowed a hand in its crafting. Distilled June 2006, with our own selected cask, and bottled by us September 2018.We went into this tasting half-expecting to singe a few nose hairs and melt the enamel off of our teeth.
