When you think about garbage cans, you probably don’t assume that there is much to like or dislike. So it may surprise you that people do leave ratings and have things to comment on. For example, when we looked at the customer reviews for this garbage can, most of the customers left 4 or 5-star reviews.
Of these positive reviews, many customers felt that it was the “perfect trash can” for their small space. The customers like that the lid snaps onto the can and since the trash can is made of plastic, it isn’t noisy when the lid hits a counter or comes back down onto the trash can.
They also said that the bag holding clamps around the edge are a great feature because the bags stays put, regardless how full the bag becomes.
With the positives, we must also mention that some of the customers had less than positive things to say and they left 3-star or below reviews.

Our Recommendation
It is surprising to read that there were so many complaints about a garbage can. With customers who purchased this can saying that it was a bad purchase, we feel that maybe there is some merit to their complaints.
However, since it is a small portion of customers, we feel that perhaps the problem is more of user error or a fluke problem with their specific can, rather than it being the standard for all Rubbermaid trash cans.
We feel that for less than $45.00 and with many positive reviews, this is a garbage can that you may want to consider. Its compact size is great for dorm rooms, craft rooms, and in the kitchen of a small family.
We don’t really recommend this garbage can for large families because it does only hold 13-gallons worth of garbage and you may be liable to take out the garbage several times a week, depending on how much garbage your family accumulates!
Either way, we feel this is a great garbage can and you won’t feel like you’re throwing your money away by purchasing it!
