Story: Royalteen starts as Lena (Asserson) and her family move to a new town, where the school is attended by royal teenagers Prince Kalle (Shorhøi) and Ingrid (Sporsheim). Lena finds herself in class next to Kalle and the pair strike up a friendship. One that Kalle isn’t used to because Lena doesn’t turn it into a celebrity situation.

As the romance starts to blossom, Lena’s past starts to catch up with her. This puts everything on the line, as Lena isn’t prepared for the pressure life can bring her after the mistakes she made in the past.

Verdict on Royalteen

Royalteen is a romance movie that uses two massive themes to drive the story. First, the pressure of being friends or more with royalty. The second, starting a new life in a new city, hiding from your past. The story follows one student trying to put her life back together before meeting and falling in love with a prince. She isn’t comfortable in the spotlight like many people wouldn’t be.

There is plenty of good gestures going on between the characters, as the Prince is trying to prove his internet celebrity isn’t the real him. As both Lena and Prince Kalle must learn not to judge a book by their covers, even if people try to stop them from being together.

This is a feel-good romance, that gets to show the best in people can be hidden away from the world for too long.

Where to Watch: Royalteen is available on Netflix

Final Thoughts Royalteen is a feel-good romance about being honest with yourself and others.
