Royal Orchid Brindavan Garden Palace and Spa: Luxury in the Lap of Nature

Impeccably maintained lawns, manicured bushes, exquisitely crated fountains and lush greenery are some of the first things that catch your attention as you make your way down the stairs of the legendary Brindavan gardens. One of the major tourist attractions of Mysore since its completion in 1932, the beautiful gardens attract as many as two million visitors a year.

The highlight of the gardens is the musical fountain show that is simply pure joy to watch. The sight of the water fountains swaying and dancing in sync with the beats and melody of the music is truly compelling.

Set in this absolutely delightful vicinity, right in the center of the Brindavan Gardens is the luxurious heritage hotel of Royal Orchid. Known as the Royal Orchid Brindavan Garden Palace and Spa, this is the perfect getaway for a rejuvenating break. A luxurious property that was once the summer palace of the Maharaja of Mysore, this historic building is almost 109 years old!

Location and Ambience

The hotel is located within the complex of the renowned Brindavan gardens which is one of the best and unique features of the hotel. With every room having a view of the gardens, it is certainly a great way to enjoy this man made beauty that is adjoining the famed Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) dam built on the river Kaveri.

As you enter this sprawling property that is spread over 1.16 acres, the grandeur and magnificence of the decor is hard to miss. The opulent chandeliers, vintage lighting, wooden elephants and antique brass artefacts are just some of the symbols of royalty you will find here.

The reception is tastefully done up with mirrors, an ornamented swing, pool table and rose wood furniture. Interspersed with ample indoor plants, fresh flowers and candles, it exudes classic style and elegance. Every nook and corner has heirlooms that reflect the rich heritage of the Maharajas.

Rooms

This pet friendly hotel has a total of 24 rooms in two categories, King size and Queen size. The king size room with 400 square feet living space and a massive balcony overlooking the gardens and the dam is luxury personified. The room is equipped with all amenities like including mini bar, safe and coffee maker. In line with the heritage and royal theme, the room is replete with flowing curtains, collectible furniture and solid wood cupboards.

The queen size rooms are only slightly smaller in that it has 270 sq feet of living space but no less in terms of comfort or indulgence.  Comfortable seating in the balconies make it perfect for unwinding while enjoying the fabulous view of the gradens.

Food and Dining

While in Royal Orchid Brindavan, you can feast like a king too.  Apart from the inhouse restaurant CK’s that serves some delectable food, there is the Elephant bar one the first floor where you can enjoy a quiet drink with family and friends.  The coffee shop that is done up in hues of white and off white is perfect for your afternoon tea, coffee and snacks.

The decor at CK’s again is regal and has a capacity of over 100.  There is a delectable buffet served for breakfast and dinner and has a wide fare spanning North Indian, South Indian, continental and Asian specialities.  The impeccable service only compliments the entire experience.

Spa

The hotel has a wonderful Spa that is just what you need for relax those aching muscles and get rid of all the urban stress.  The Kumuda Spa, as it is called has a wide array of treatments ranging from aromatherapy, foot massage, back massage, Swedish and Balinese massage.  The experienced therapists at the spa ensure that the full body massage is the panacea for all your strain and stress.

The Spa even offers a jet lag eliminator that makes you all set to enjoy the property after a long journey!

Other facilities

The property offers several other amenities like a full fledged fitness centre, swimming pool and gaming zone.  There is also a banquet hall for weddings, events and corporate meetings.  The Nirvana Terrace helps you to enjoy tranquil mornings where you can practice your daily dose of yoga.
