Royal College Colombo and Bishop’s College emerged Overall boys and girls team diving champions at the 47th Milo Sri Lanka schools swimming and diving championships held at the Sugathadasa swimming pool on last Sunday.
The winning Royal and Bishops teams captains Matheesha Marambe and Senuri Wettasinghe received their trophies from.R.N. Ranasinghe – Secretary of Ministry of Education at the presentation ceremony. The swimming overall Championship once again won by St Joseph’s College Colombo and Vishaka Vidyalaya Colombo based on their points.
The under 10 age group boys swimming championship was won by Lyceum International Nugegoda while under 10 girls age group championship was won by Mahamaya Kandy. St Peter’s Bambalapitiya and Vishaka Vidyalaya emerged Under 12 boys and girls age group champions while under 14 boys and girls championships were won by St Joseph’s and Lyceum International Gampaha.
The under 16 age group championships were won by St Joseph’s and Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya. Ladies College and Ananda College Colombo won under 18 girls and boys titles. Visakha Vidyalaya and Royal won the under 20 girls and boys swimming championships.
R.N Ranasinghe the Secretary to the Education Ministry, National Schools Director Kithsiri Liyanagamage, Nestle Lanka Vice President Ruwan Wellikala, Sri Lanka Swimming Association President Nethru Nanayakkara were present at the awards ceremony.
