Rosehip Teahouse – ‘Growth’ video

Cardiff indie-poppers Rosehip Teahouse have shared new song ‘Growth’ ahead of a run of UK summer dates and an appearance at Indietracks Festival in July. Signed to our friends at Beth Shalom Records, this single finds vocalist Faye Rogers examining how important self-care is and how you should always take time to breathe: ‘This track is about taking time to focus on yourself and your own personal development.’

Opening with glacial riffs courtesy of Tony Williams, the song finds Faye in philosophical and reflective mood, opening by singing the words ‘I don’t know why I can’t just throw my arms around you’ with a sigh. She goes on to discuss not being able to walk away from darkness, while the music veers into a gentle Death Cab-meets-C86 sound to match the more self-aware lyrics: ‘I never wanted you to go, but I always tell myself I won’t be alone’; ‘You’re brighter than anyone else I’ve ever known’.
