Today iRobot has improved the brain performance of its Roomba vacuums and mops. According to the company, this major software update, called iRobot Genius Home Intelligence, offers improved navigation, app and voice control for the current range of robot cleaners.
For example, your smart speaker can say things like "Roomba, clean around the couch" or "Hey, Google, swipe under the kitchen table". According to iRobot, the machines will then take action and perform these cleaning tasks within the areas you specified. Special models that acquire these new skills are the Roomba i7, Roomba S9, and Braava Jet M6 mop.
A redesigned app
The heart of the iRobot Genius platform is a redesigned iRobot Home application. The revision focuses on the idea that robots should clean at the right time. That said, they ideally work around your schedule and activities.

For example, you can have your Roomba automatically start cleaning while you are doing a job. It can then stop cleaning when you get home. Smart home devices like Nest thermostats and August Smart locks serve as triggers for these events. Likewise, your phone connected to a software service such as IFTTT can perform a similar operation.
Adaptive intelligence
In addition, the app gives you personal recommendations based on your behavior and seasonal factors. And if your Roomba frequently gets stuck in certain areas of your house, the app will take note of those areas and suggest them as "restricted areas".
