An erstwhile assistant to Puri Jagannadh, Gopi Ganesh moved out from Puri Jagannadh’s shadow post Super and learnt cinematography. He later worked as an Ad film maker and made several ads for both the government and top notch private companies.
One fine day Puri Jagannadh recalls him and gives him a script to direct which would later turn out to be the directorial debut of Gopi Ganesh, Romeo. The film stars Sairam Shankar in the lead and already even before the release itself the director has made sure the film recovers its budget (1.08 Cr) through satellite rights (2.25 Cr). Not only that the entire film’s AP rights has been taken up by distribution network too even before the release.
