Yarra Valley

Situated not too far from the city, Yarra Valley provides a drastic change in scenery, located just beyond the suburban regions. Its vast and beautiful terrain of rolling hills is covered in captivating vines and paddocks. You can enjoy this scenic splendour in a hot air balloon ride, ideally at sunrise, when the view is almost majestic.

Stroll through the beautiful Healesville Village and shop for local delights. You could also visit TarraWarra Museum of Art, which features brilliant Australian art from the late 20th century. The Valley is also famous for its cool-climate wines that could be enjoyed along with delicious local produce at several places, including Bella Vedere or wineries like De Bortoli.

Mornington Peninsula

Situated merely an hour away from Melbourne, Mornington Peninsula is an ideal romantic getaway that boasts of its existence with a host of spas, beaches, wineries, and gardens. The beaches at Port Philip are perfect to relax and soak in the sun, while the Peninsula Hot Springs offers a great way for you to unwind with your special someone. You could go up to Arthurs Seat, the highest point of the Peninsula, to take in a spectacular panoramic view extending all the way up to the Melbourne skyline.

The Ashcombe Maze and Lavender Gardens offer pleasurable, quaint walks and the chance to enjoy some picturesque greenery all around. Get lost in one of the three mazes in this sculptured garden or, on your way back, pick some strawberries from the Sunny Ridge Farm.

Phillip Island

A 90-minute drive from Melbourne, this island is full of coastal wildlife experiences, cultural events, and penguins! Visit the Penguin Plus viewing platform around sunset to watch the penguin parade coming back from the sea on Summerland Beach. You could also explore the coastline on romantic cruises and witness whale migrations or pass by seal colonies.

So what are you waiting for? Just hire a car rental in Melbourne and get ready to create some beautiful memories with your better half!
